Privacy Policy
You take online privacy seriously, and so does Engineering Optimization Software LLC. It’s our way of sustaining your trust in Engineering Optimization Software LLC as well as in our products and services.
Non-Personal Information
In general, you can visit Engineering Optimization Software LLC on the World Wide Web without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself.
Personal Information
PLANOPT.com may ask you to provide information that personally identifies you, such as name, e-mail address, mailing address or phone number (“Personal Information”). This will occur in certain circumstances, including for example, when you purchase software. We use your Personal Information for three primary purposes:
1. To enable you to find or gain access to information, software or services on our web site.
2. To register your license and rights, if any, to technical support.
3. To allow us to inform you of product updates and upgrades, special offers, new services and products, as well as updated information that may be made available to registered users.
Engineering Optimization Software LLC will not provide your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, or any other Personal Information to any third parties except for our Authorized Resellers.
If you don’t want Engineering Optimization Software LLC to send you e-mail or postal mail regarding Engineering Optimization Software LLC’s products, services, or special offers, let us know by sending us an e-mail to sales@planopt.com.
Online Registration
When you register a product, whether purchased online directly from Engineering Optimization Software LLC or otherwise, we store the Personal Information you give us on a secure server. That information is treated in the same manner as any Personal Information.
Cookies “Cookies” are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information.
Customers and evaluation users from our previous systems
When we launched our new website, we began moving existing customer and evaluation records from our previous systems into our new customer database.
What we moved: your name, email address, company or institution, country, and the products, licenses, orders and evaluations linked to you.
Why:
- to manage your licenses, renewals and support (performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in serving existing customers);
- to send you occasional emails about VIP‑PLANOPT and related EOS products and services (our legitimate interest, and for customers and recent evaluation users in the EU, EEA and UK, the “soft opt-in” for similar products).
We do not email marketing to evaluation users in the EU, EEA or UK whose last evaluation was more than 2 years ago, or to customers there whose last license ended more than 3 years ago.
Your choices: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out, or ask us to access, correct or delete your data, by writing to sales@planopt.com. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list only so that we never email you again.
Email verification: before sending, we may check that email addresses are still valid using an email-verification service. It acts as our processor under a data processing agreement, receives email addresses only, and deletes them after processing.
How long we keep it: customer quote, order, invoice and receipt records for at least seven years after the end of the tax year in which the transaction took place, and longer where needed for our business, tax, accounting or legal purposes (for example, license and warranty history, disputes, audits), with periodic review and deletion or anonymization when no longer needed; evaluation records for 3 years after your last activity, after which they are deleted; suppression-list entries for as long as needed to honor your opt-out.
What Information Do We Collect?
The type of information we maintain on our secure Personal Information server falls into two categories. The first is general information about you such as name, billing address, e-mail address, etc. The second is product-specific information that enables us to customize information for you depending on which of our products or services you have purchased or registered. Our Technical Support department also utilizes this information when you contact it.
Engineering Optimization Software LLC reserves the right to alter our privacy principles as business needs require. Any alterations to these principles will be posted on our web site in a timely manner. Please feel free to contact the webmaster with any questions, comments, or problems that might arise.
