Who we are
We are a research team. Our consultants are experts with Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics and Engineering, with strong research backgrounds, who hold faculty positions at various universities.
We are always searching around the world for experts who can help us with their expertise, or provide us with software packages for further development and marketing. If you can help, please contact us.
What we do
Our software products are the outcome of years of research in Engineering Design and Optimization. We are determined to provide our customers with high-quality, unique and useful software packages.
Our development work never stops. Members of our team are assigned specific tasks and enjoy the freedom of working from their homes at remote locations. This keeps our overhead costs to a minimum, and it is how you get our software at affordable prices.
The first product we released was PLANOPT, a general-purpose floor-plan layout optimization program. It was released with a challenge to researchers in the field: come forward and present an algorithm that can beat PLANOPT.
No other software is yet known to produce better (lower cost function value) layouts.
Today the program is VIP‑PLANOPT, which incorporates all the enhancements introduced since that first release.

The first PLANOPT version
The first version of PLANOPT comes into existence, and we start distributing our software from Florida.
- July 1996
EOS takes over distribution
Engineering Optimization Software takes over distribution of the program.

First shipment
The first copy of PLANOPT is shipped.

Move to Georgia
Our distribution point moves to Georgia.

Shaped by its users
The program is continually enhanced from users’ feedback, especially from researchers working on layout optimization at universities in the USA and abroad.

Version 6.00 becomes VIP‑PLANOPT
Version 6.00 adds a visual interface and is named VIP‑PLANOPT, the Visually Interfaced Package of PLANOPT.

Where we are today
